Freight and logistics enquiries into DeliverAI have grown month-over-month. This week alone we routed an 80 kg perishables lead (Mbombela → Lenasia) to five SA freight operators inside four hours. Real leads are landing faster than one founder can personally close them — and that's not fair to the businesses reaching out.
About the role
DeliverAI is building the data and intelligence layer for African logistics. The parcel side is live — 18 SA couriers in active comparison, six integrated via live API. The freight side (30 kg+, pallets, bulk, oversized cargo) runs on a brokered model where we quote across a growing network of SA freight operators.
You'll be the first commercial hire and the person freight enquiries route to. Not a purely outbound role — the inbound flow is real and growing. Your job is to convert it.
What you'll do
- Respond to and qualify inbound freight enquiries received through DeliverAI.
- Coordinate competitive quotes with our courier and freight partners.
- Guide customers to the right shipping solution.
- Follow up on enquiries until they become completed shipments.
- Build long-term relationships with customers, operators, and logistics partners.
- Help improve our sales process as DeliverAI grows.
Ideal background
- B2B sales, logistics ops, freight forwarding, or customer success.
- Comfortable on phone and email with business decision-makers.
- Honest, proactive, and okay with early-stage ambiguity.
- SA-based, remote-first. Existing SA freight or 3PL relationships are a strong plus but not required.
Compensation
This role starts on a revenue-share model. DeliverAI generates the enquiries and manages the platform; you'll earn a performance-based percentage on the business you successfully convert into completed shipments. As the business grows, the role is expected to transition to a base retainer or salary plus performance incentives.

- Respond to all new freight enquiries within one business day.
- Build strong relationships with our courier and freight partners.
- Successfully convert inbound enquiries into paying shipments.
- Help refine DeliverAI's commercial playbook as we grow.
